Former club with fascinating colonial memorabilia offering a cosy retreat with sofas around the fire. A Royal British Legion memorial is in the prize-winning garden and local charities are well supported. The spacious conservatory serves for functions and meetings. Beers are from a range of brewers and sometimes include a dark ale. Good quality and value meals are served Thursday to Saturday teatimes plus Sunday lunch. Quiz Wednesday. Mirfield station is one mile away. Opening times vary so ring ahead, especially on quiet evenings when closing is often early. Often just one ale on, to maintain quality.
