Easily found at the east end of the town centre, on route to the station, the Olive Tree is difficult to categorize. It serves breakfasts as soon as it opens, the comfortable front room serves three real ales, and yet dining is important here. Coffee and snacks are also served throughout the day, so it is all things to most people. The interesting food menu is mainly modern English, and appears to be quite reasonably priced. The pub is larger than one would expect, with several linked dining areas at the rear of the bar; and beyond those is a large patio. The whole building is nicely furnished with lots of bare wood, some of which looks very genuine.
