Portobello Star, Notting Hill

The block in which this stands was designed by Thomas Pocock. It was recorded as a beerhouse in 1870 and became fully licensed at around the time of WW2.

The venue promotes itself as providing artisan beers, creative cocktails, handmade liquor, and house infused spirits. Party bookings welcomed. DJs Fridays and Saturdays from 8pm.

"Demolition and rebuild behind retained front facade and flank wall with 177 to include the enlargement of existing basements to 171 and 175; formation of new basement to 173; erection of amended closet wings including glazed infill extensions at first floor in connection with the creation of a restaurant at lower ground and ground floor levels of nos.171 and 173; relocation of the Public House to lower ground and ground floor of 175; new plant including air cooled condensers, and reconfiguration of two residential units across first and second floors of nos.171, 173 and 175 with new entrance within the shopfront of no.171 including the replacement of windows, doors and partial replacement of shopfronts to front elevation"
