Built in 1630 and transformed into a pub in 1843, this stone property has open fires, mullioned windows, oak beamed ceilings and a stone flagged bar area. A new sturdy porch was completed in 2022, which helps keep the gales out in winter and provides a place for walkers to compose themselves when entering or leaving the building. Outside there is a garden with tables and chairs, which provide stunning views of the surrounding valley. The emphasis is on the locally sourced food - booking is recommended. The Littondale dining room is available for private functions. The LAMB Brewing Company is based behind the pub. The 2 or 3 changing beers will include LAMB beers. May close during the afternoon if quiet and no staying guests are expected. The pub has no car park, but there is ample space on the road in front of the pub. Closed Mondays.
