A popular split level pub and restaurant, with a real log fire (built by the landlord) that burns on most evenings in the colder months. Real ales are served directly from the cask.
The pub has offered B&B since 2017.
The Bus stop is located just after the nearby crossroads (about 2 minute walk from the pub).
Historic Interest
Understood to have been originally known as the Station. Subsequently called the Railway Hotel, with the "Hotel" part of the name dropped in January 1970. Interestingly, the present building doesn't appear on the 1882 OS map or the 1889-91 OS map, so it appears that the original inn must have been elsewhere? It's believed that the pub pre-dates the railway line & was a coaching inn on the old turnpike. Presumably it had a different name then...
This Pub serves 1 changing beer and 3 regular beers.

Judging for the competition takes around a year, starting with individual nominations from CAMRA members and tasting panel nominations, leading to a series of rigorous regional heats adhering to a strict blind tasting policy.
