More hotel than pub but we believe the lounge bar may be open to non-residents
Beautiful Rhinefield House, standing in 40 acres at the south end of the Ornamental Drive, was built in the 1880s; it became a hotel in 1982. The exterior is Tudor-Gothic, with crenellations, mullions, transoms, galleries ... Within are the Alhambra room, a hammer-beamed hall, Venetian glass, a carving of the Armada... Food is available in the restaurant, and all day in the brasserie - the cream teas are recommended. The Ornamental Drive has many non-native trees. It is at its most beautiful in late May and early June, but delightful at any time.
