For sixty years, the Ritz was the city's entertainment hub, hosting films and live entertainment. The cinema closed in 1996, and the foyer and stalls were converted by JD Wetherspoon. The interior celebrates past glories, with numerous signed photos of the top-line acts that performed there. The beer range includes plenty of brews from local micros. Weston's Old Rosie cider is ever present. Hosts monthly meet-the-brewer events the last Thursday of the month. There is a twice-yearly beer festival. The pub gets particularly busy when there is a match at nearby Sincil Bank.
