Prominent pub situated opposite New Cross Gate railway station which re-opened at the end of January 2015 after a substantial refit by Urban Pubs & Bars. Retains the original small glass panel front windows. A contemporary bareboarded ground floor front bar, with some uncovered brickwork walls, and a large number of keg fonts. Bright around the bar counter, more dimly lit around seating areas. Open view kitchen provides daily pizzas (from a wood burning oven) and grills, with traditional roasts on Sunday only. There is a large rear room which leads to a garden and smoking area with some cover and heating. Further seating upstairs, which may double as a function room. Toilets, except for mobility impaired persons, are upstairs. There are several tables on decking at the front by the pavement. No handpumps and no real ale.
