17th-century ivy-clad traditional village pub with up to eight real ales including local and national brews turning over rapidly. A comfortable main bar area with large restaurant to the rear. Good food, freshly prepared, with a carvery. Popular with horse riders, cyclists (route 24) and walkers (Monarchs Way and Grovely Wood). Regular music events and quizzes. Heavily involved in the village's celebrations on Oak Apple Day (29 May).
