Situated between the road and railway. Interior has been opened up to create an island servery. On one side of this is the bar area and on the other is the restaurant. Some old features have been retained such as the flagstone floor. There are seats outside the front and to the rear in the spacious garden, which also has a children's play area.

Judging for the competition takes around a year, starting with individual nominations from CAMRA members and tasting panel nominations, leading to a series of rigorous regional heats adhering to a strict blind tasting policy.
