A Chef & Brewer food-led venue in an 18th-century building that, as the name suggests, was formerly a blacksmith's forge. Set in a quiet hamlet to the south-west of Harrogate, the pub comprises an L-shaped bar area and a separate restaurant. An excellent menu with many seasonal dishes is offered throughout the day in both the restaurant and bar. The five handpumps serve two permanent beers and three changing ales, sourced locally. Boxed ciders are also available, usually Lilley’s.
