A converted shop unit, previously a bank, with plate glass frontage. Inside has been furnished with laminate flooring, industrial chic steel & wood tables and a recycled wood bar. 8 handpumps, 6 for beer and 2 for cider, are supplied from a cool-room behind the bar which is viewable through its glass door. While the pub has a micropub ethos it is spacious with plenty of seating. Very handy for the number 1 bus route outside or Chandler's Ford railway station just a few minutes walk away.
Very friendly place that fills up regularly, especially on Fridays and Saturdays. The pub's insurance and licence conditions prohibit under 18s from visiting. Southern Hampshire CAMRA Pub Of The Year 2019 and 2020.
Lined glasses are used for third and half pints, and a mixture of both lined pint glasses and brim measure pint glasses are used.
Opening times may vary but latest hours can be found via their website or Google business listing. The beer manu is usually updated at https://files.thesteeltank.com/menu.pdf
