The building has been a pub since the 17th century. It is a grade 2 listed building since 1974. It was refurbished in 2013. It has retained features such has the exposed beams and exposed stone walls.
It is located in the town centre 5 minute walk from the bus and train station. Despite its town centre status it is a welcoming pub.
Please note: as at 16 Nov 2023 the pub is currently closed for refurbishment.
