Ground-floor pub/restaurant with central bar area and hotel above
Following a period of closure and a refurb and name change, this venue is now a British-Indian pub and restaurant with a central bar area and two distinct seating areas. It has a very young landlord and "a team of chefs turning out some of the best Indian food in the country". There is a north-Indian food menu and a non-Indian one including burgers, pizzas, all-day English breakfasts and salads. The Indian dishes are substantial and doggie bags are available on request! There is a 22-room hotel above. No cask ale on offer from the two handpumps but a big range of craft beers is available and whiskies are a speciality here. The food here has garnered some good reviews.
Note that alcohol may not be sold to non-hotel guests before 10am Monday to Saturday or noon on Sunday.
In July 2006 this pub was added to the CAMRA London Regional inventory of outstanding pub interiors and removed in 2019 following the above mentioned refurbishment.
