West Yorkshire's highest free house affords magnificent views across the Worth Valley. Surrounded by rugged moors, it can be bliss on a sunny day but it can be foul when the weather gets angry! Nonetheless the pub offers fine sanctuary with a warm welcome and roaring fires in winter. The emphasis is on dining (booking advised weekend evenings) but non-diners are very welcome and the pub is a great place to end an invigorating Pennine walk. Two pub favourite meals for £20 on Tuesdays from 5.30pm. and occasional themed events, check Facebook page. Disabled access is via the side door.
