A 16th-century coaching inn with stone flagstones and wooden panels surrounded by wood beams throughout, and a roaring log fire giving a warm welcome to visitors. It is popular with locals and the village football and pool teams. There is a large garden and an annual firework display. Well-behaved dogs and children are welcome. Quiz and curry night is every third Thursday and Irish folk music takes place the first Wednesday of the month. Every last bank holiday in August, the last Saturday and Sunday the popular ale and cider festival takes place with live music and entertainment on both days. lots of other events are regularly featured.
