Good Beer Guide

Woolpack Inn, Sopley

Improve This Listing

The Woolpack was built in the mid-18th century, and was a favourite haunt of those stationed at RAF Sopley, a nearby radar station closed in 1974. This lovely, thatched pub lies between the Ringwood to Christchurch road and a spur of the river Avon.

The main bar area is a L-shaped room with wooden beams, some low (so take care!), especially the one that leads to a lower stone floored side room that has a wood burner. There is also a large conservatory, which leads to a patio area and a riverside garden that is reached via a little footbridge. A wide range of fresh homemade seasonal food is served all day.

Historic Interest

Grade II listed. Became an inn in the 18th century. 19th & 20th century alterations. Historic England list UID: 1350925
