Known locally as The Rock, at the top of a steep hill (gentler access is availble from the Tettenhall High street end of the road), the pub is first mentiond in 1818 as the Old Rose and Crown. Later, the gardens around it were developed and were extremely popular as they gave a magnificent vista over Wolverhampton. Steep steps from lower down Old Hill offered a short cut to the gardens but are now overgrown and unused.
In 1997 a separate building was erected to the side of the pub for use as a (since discontinued) children’s Wacky Warehouse.
The current offering is pub and grill style family dining, but welcomes people who wish just to drink. Opens early for breakfasts at weekends.
The commanding view of the city can be enjoyed from an outside terrace with seating.
This Pub serves 2 changing beers and 1 regular beer.
