Established in 1860, this former coaching inn is multi-roomed and the oldest hostelry in this traditional dales village. The bar boasts eight hand pumps with two regular beers and ever-changing guests from local breweries such as Goose Eye, Dark Horse, Wharfedale, Theakston, and Wensleydale. There's a warming fire, and it is dog & children friendly. Bar snacks and a la carte meals are served daily. Serving times may differ in quieter months so please call ahead to check. Six en-suite rooms are available as is wireless internet access. Functions are catered for. Open daily until late.
