A large Victorian corner street pub in the old shoemaking district. The pub is laid out in an L shape with the bar in the same format. Car parking to the rear is limited, and is shared with nearby businesses. There is normally live music on a Saturday night. The pub was built in 1870 and has been continuously trading since as the crown and anchor and in the past was home to the Wild Flower Society.
