The town-centre site on which this spacious modern pub now stands has had a variety of uses over the years, and used to be on the bank of the former Westlode river. Excavations during the rebuild in 2005 discovered an undercroft and cellar from the late medieval period, on view beneath toughened glass inside the front entry door to the left. Guest ciders are also sold. Food is available all day. Photographs and archaeological finds are displayed on the walls.
This Pub serves 2 changing beers and 3 regular beers.
