Located in the middle of Winchester's famous Abbey Gardens with an impressive grade II listed 4-column Roman Doric entrance portico.
Opening times are taken from a notice on their gate Wednesday 11/09/2024, while website still says open Wednesdays.
A stylish multi-layered space incorporates a Grill, Wine Room & Bottle Shop. On the ground floor is a versatile family-friendly restaurant for lunch and casual dining. In the evenings the menus extend with meat, fish and local produce of the highest quality roasted on the open grill. Upstairs is a stylish bar and decadent wine room & bottle shop featuring a selection of wines but also a small plates menu featuring charcuterie, cheeses, home made terrines, sharing-style dishes, artisan bread and much more.
Historic Interest
The entrance, a four column Roman Doric portico, is Grade II listed and was built around 1750. It was possibly designed by William Pescod in 1751 and is only a fragment of the original. Historic England list entry 1095463.
