Single-roomed pub with a central bar behind which is the cellar trap door and its vertiginous steps. The building was first a pub, then a bakery, then a pub again. It was part of the local Trough Brewery estate until the brewery's demise. Although there are seven hand-pulls on the bar, not all of them are used. When visited in Feb 2024, only two real ales were available. There are ten keg taps dispensing lagers and cider and an additional keg tap for Guinness. The garden area is well sheltered. Live bands, usually of the rock variety, play on Friday and Saturday from 9.30pm. Bands may also play on Sundays. There is an annual beer festival in August and the "Bike & Trike" show. The pub can be hired for events and buffets for up to 50 people can be provided.
