An award-winning traditional pub, popular with drinkers and diners. It was originally two adjoining pubs, the left of which is listed and has a fine tiled frontage. Eleven handpumps serve mostly Butcombe and Liberation Ales as well as Stan's ciders. Good freshly cooked food is served daily, except Sunday evenings, with gluten free options available. A partly covered courtyard caters for smokers and alfresco drinkers. Sunday is quiz night. Under-18s are not admitted.

The left hand part with the Green tiled frontage is the former Pembroke Arms and is Grade II Listed. Historic England list entry 1140116
