Traditional country pub occupying a thatched building which dates from the 18th century. The small single-bar interior has half-timbered end walls, a beamed ceiling and a big old fireplace. Large garden with views to open countryside, amusements for children and a pétanque pitch. Outdoor seating at the front as well as in the garden.
Closed for over a year, it reopened in November 2017 having been purchased by Hare & Hounds (Harlton) Community Interest Company who refurbished it and appointed managers to run it.
Its three ever-changing real ales range from locally brewed to regional and national brands. Its cider & perry list includes locally produced ones. Hearty home-cooked food, including village reared beef, has a strong reputation, especially the Sunday lunch. Fish & chips each Friday. Sunday night quiz. Bridge for beginners on Tuesday and Cribbage on Thursday.
