Family run business on the A603. After lying derelict for a couple of years, the Wheatsheaf reopened in 2007 following a major refurbishment. The large timber-clad extension houses La Pergola, an excellent Italian restaurant, with pizzas cooked in a wood-burning oven. The bar area of the old pub survives but only the original bar back was retained. The large counter has a fine polished granite counter and the beautiful stone flags on the floor were imported from Italy. Outside are a smart patio, a large car park and a kids' play area - plus an allotment where the family grow many of the vegetables used in the restaurant.
