Recently taken over by enthusiastic new owners, The Horseshoes was run down, but is being brought up to scratch but there is still much work to be done. Although one bar, it is divided into three areas. A wood burning stove keeps the pub warm. Food is home cooked and the menu varies. A friendly atmosphere prevails. Food is increasingly popular and highly rated, particularly the good value Sunday roasts for which booking is strongly advised and will sometimes feature game (venison, pheasant etc.). The three beers are usually from Shropshire breweries. It is planned to bring the outbuildings into use and upgrade the outdoor area and land belonging to the pub to hold events including classic car meets (the owner has a collection of his own) and possibly a beer festival.
It was once a part of the large local estate of the Shrewsbury & Wem Brewery.
