This pub is located within a Listed building, originally constructed in 1895, that was formerly the Penny Bank. It was formerly the City Gent pub but re-opening in August 2018 as the Old Penny Bank to reflect its original use. It comprises a relatively large open-plan room with plenty of marble and woodwork and an ornate ceiling. There is an impressive marble fireplace with entrance doors to either side. The bar is located to the rear of the room. The pub only tends to open when the local football team is playing at home and can be very busy then.
