Situated in the pretty village of Askett , the Three Crowns' main building has been more of a restuarant than pub for a while where you're more likely to be welcomed by a waiter as you enter.
However, a new bar aimed at drinkers has been opened in the pub's outbuildings, called the Stable Bar. This is modern but cosy and welcoming, almost a micropub. Two handpumps serve a national brand (e.g. GK IPA) and a rotating guest beer, usually a LocAle, such as Rebellion. The Stables Bar is a welcome addition to the local pub scene.
The main building's history was previously a Coaching House and dates back to the 18th Century. There is an open fireplace in regular use in winter months and the flagstoned floor adds character. There is a garden surrounding the pub.
This Pub serves 2 changing beers and 1 regular beer.
