Friendly local-in-the-city public house, with five beers available, that has built up a reputation both for its ales and good value quality food. The 17th-century building has plenty of beams and exposed brickwork.
It is compact, with a small bar area on the left as you enter. A larger area with seating is to the right of the bar with further seating in a room to the rear, both available as dining areas.
The spacious outside patio area is well-frequented in the summer months. It is an ideal place to stop before or after a walk along the river or a visit to nearby attractions.
May close early if not busy.
