Eight beer pumps adorn the bar of this multi-CAMRA-award winning 17th-centry country inn with unspoilt public bar, including its splendid hearth and open fire, tiny lounge and attractive garden with riverside play area. The pub offers excellent home-cooked food; the ham and eggs has a strong following. The car park is across the road.
Middleham Castle and Jervaulx Abbey are both within a mile or two, accessible along riverside walks, although unfortunately the latter has closed its famed tea-rooms.
