A suitably rustic 17th-century coaching inn. Two welcoming open fires and a variety of furniture from dining tables to a chesterfield sofa. The garden overlooks Old Alresford Pond, which is actually a substantial man made lake constructed in the 13th century to provide fish for the Bishop of Winchester and headwaters to float wool barges down the Alre & Itchen rivers.
