An 18th century coaching inn called the Rose & Crown stood on this site until the late 19th century when it was knocked down and the current building replaced it. The pub is now open plan and the front section has a mix of comfy settees and chairs, several mirrors and a large TV screen. Thursday is Poker night and live music can be enjoyed every Friday and Saturday with comedy nights on some Sundays. Nuxie's on-site Kitchen provides Caribbean themed food with a special deal on Tuesdays. Outside at the rear there is a large patio seating area.
Historic Interest
An 1899 rebuild, but the previous pub on this site dates back to at least 1783.
